The country offers a large variety of landscapes :

Lots of beaches, mountains, high desert plateaus of the Tell area,
olive-trees in the Sahel area, palm trees in the oasis and sands of

the desert... where you can discover camel treks, mirages,

mosques, souks and old medinas.

Tunisia is located extremely north of Africa, just closed to Sicily,

between Algeria to the west and Libya to the east. It it the smallest

country in the Maghreb (which includes : Morocco, Algeria,

Tunisia, Libya and Maurinania).

Surface : 162 155 Km2

Population : 9,2 millions inhabitants (37 % - of 16 years old)

Density : 57 inhabitants / km2

Capitale : Tunis (1,8 millions inhabitants)

Main cities : Sfax, Sousse, Kairouan, Bizerte

Régime : Presidential Democracy

Official language : Arabic

Formalities : ID card in validity for trips reserved in travel agencies or passport.

Vaccination : no particular vaccine is required to date.

Currency : Tunisian Dinar (DT) divided in millimes

There are banks in every city and cash dispenses where you can get directly dinars.

The import or the export of the tunisian dinar is formally prohibited, it is advised to change
progressively.

Time difference : Summer : - 1h00 / None in winter.
